Berlin Holocaust Memorial

Paul Siegel is critical of the new Berlin memorial to the Holocaust.

Having not actually seen it for myself, I won't comment on its merits as a fitting memorial.

However, I will take heart in the fact that there is such a memorial in that very place. This is the larger story, and while we debate freely our feelings about the actual work, let's not lose sight of the significance of its existence.
